TECHNICAL SERVICES FOR CASINO DEVELOPERS AND OPERATORS
Cayuga serves as full-service casino consultants as projects move from
conceptual planning to fully operational businesses. Cayuga's consultants have extensive experience in the planning, development,
opening and operation of dozens of casinos worldwide, and in providing
clients with essential experience in developing casino projects
which will comfortably withstand government licensing scrutiny,
attract defined gaming markets and be financially profitable.
Perhaps of equal significance to our clients is the fact that Cayuga is truly independent: we do not operate casinos, nor do we hold any beneficial interest in any casino operating companies or gaming equipment manufacturers or suppliers.
Casino openings are extremely challenging technically, but tremendously rewarding once successfully accomplished. With its expertise in all aspects of casino gaming, Cayuga can guide its clients through this difficult process.
In pre-development phases of casino projects, Cayuga typically performs market analyses to identify and measure potential gaming markets, develops preliminary marketing plans and business plans inclusive of detailed financial projections, and begins to assemble license application packages for submission to governmental agencies.
As projects move through architectural planning stages, Cayuga determines the optimum mix of table games and electronic games based on its market research for each project, lays out the casino floor and casino back-of-the-house spaces, and refines the casino plan so that it will be aesthetically pleasing to the gaming patron and efficient for the casino operator.
Cayuga also provides technical assistance to project architects in positioning food and beverage outlets, entertainment facilities and other essential spaces which are unique to casino operations.
Cayuga then prepares staffing plans for pre-opening hiring, training and ongoing operations, and specifications and budgets for all casino furniture, fixtures, equipment, operating supplies and casino-related computer hardware and software. If desired, Cayuga undertakes all FF&E purchasing on behalf of the owner.
As each project proceeds to construction and moves toward opening, Cayuga interviews and recommends appropriate casino management companies or assists the client in preparing to operate the casino in-house.In addition, Cayuga provides input and expertise in the preparation of customized operating procedures which are essential in casino operations and in shaping a casino's markets. These procedures relate to, among many other areas, the following:
- Development of a table of organization providing maximum efficiency in day-to-day operations while retaining essential separation of responsibilities in financial and surveillance operations
- Rules of the games, i.e., standard rules for the conduct of all games
- Internal controls, i.e., the handling of cash and cash equivalents
- Operating procedures to cost-effectively comply with gaming regulations and management information reporting requirements
- Security and handling of gaming equipment
- Security procedures regarding electronic games
- Surveillance systems and procedures
- Issuance of casino complimentaries
- Casino credit policies, procedures and controls
- Casino marketing
- Currency transaction reporting compliance (for all U.S. casinos)
Once operating procedures and controls are drafted and approved, Cayuga's consultants assist in their implementation so that the entire casino will function efficiently.Once gaming operations have begun, Cayuga is available to assist the owner in carrying out its oversight and fiduciary responsibilities by periodically conducting financial, operational and management performance audits.
Cayuga acts as the owner's casino-expert eyes and ears, assuring fair and honest operations, aggressive marketing of the casino and optimum financial return. Also in modern casino operations, owners and operators must be fully aware of a host of compliance laws.
Cayuga offers compliance training and testing to assure conformity with federal, state and local laws.Follow-on services, such as in casino surveillance training, "mystery shopping" and executive search for supervisory- and executive-level personnel, are available to all of our clients
